Travel & Getting There

Flights

We recommend flying into Florence as this is the easiest and most convenient way to get to the venue.

Closest Airports & Driving Distance
to the venue
- Florence (27miles away)
- Pisa (85miles away)

*We will be in Florence from the 31st August.

Transport

In Italy, one of the most reliable and affordable car hire options is Sicily by Car.

We recommend arranging your own travel insurance in addition to the coverage offered by the rental company for extra peace of mind.

Sicily by Car operates in all major airports and throughout Italy.

Australians planning to rent a car in Europe are advised to obtain an International Driving Permit.

Funds & Currency

Funds & Currency

We recommend converting your currency into Euros before departing home to help secure the best possible exchange rate.

We also love Revolut for everyday travel spending — it keeps international fees low and exchange rates competitive.

Visas & Travel

When visiting Europe, you may come across something called Tourism Tax. In Italy, this tax applies to travellers staying in paid accommodations, and the amount varies by city and type of lodging. Most venues include this fee in your nightly rate and may request cash payment upon checkout, so it’s worth keeping in mind when budgeting for your stay.

Another important update to note is the upcoming ETIAS visa authorization. Beginning in 2026, visitors from visa-exempt countries will be required to apply for ETIAS before entering Italy for short-term stays.

While the official launch date has not yet been confirmed, we recommend keeping this in mind and checking for updates closer to your travel date to ensure all requirements are met.

Things To Do

To help you make the most of your time in Italy, we’ve gathered some of our favourite things to see and do.

WINERIES & VINEYARD

There is a huge variety of amazing vineyards in Tuscany and this region is known for its wine. Enjoy the countryside and visit one or multiple estates and sip your way through the rolling hills.

COOK & TASTE

Try one of the many amazing locals pasta making classes. Whether it be Ragu, Pappardelle or Rigatoni - learn the traditional way of cooking in the country side.

PALAZZO VECCHIO

The Palazzo Vecchio is a must-visit for history enthusiasts, serving as Florence’s town hall since 1299. Known for its impressive stonework, courtyards, frescoes, and art, it stands as a testament to Florence’s historical and political significance

Accommodation

For the ease of your planning, we have put together some suggested accommodation for your stay.
